As a parent, educator or clinician, you must first create your own account at arc.readingcomprehension.ca to be able to then set up a child participant, create groups among your participants, and customize the content.
HOW TO SET UP YOUR ACCOUNT
Select “Login”
Select “Create new Account”
Set up your Username, email, and password for your account. Your email address is required for account verification.
After you have created a new account, you can login via the same URL by selecting “Already a member"? then entering your email address and password.
When you login to the Admin panel you will see the following options:
Dashboard
Groups
Participants
Disabled Participants
Content
Dashboard
Shows the number of Active and Inactive participants, their case ID and the stats on the participants can be viewed. Click on View Stats to see the dates of the interventions and if you click on the intervention date you will see more detailed stats for that date.
You will see the total number of Active Participants in the upper left corner and total number of Inactive Participants in the upper right corner. If you click on Participants (either Active or Inactive) you will see the names of all Participants in this category.
Groups
You can set up groups by clicking on the Add Group button in the upper right corner. In this way you can add participants to this specific group. You can make additions to content that will affect everyone in that designated group. If no group is assigned the participant is assigned to the Default group. Note that you can also assign participants to a group in the Participants section. By clicking on the View Members button, you can see members in the group
Participants
You can add new Participants by clicking on Add Participants in the upper right corner.
Once participants are added their User# will appear under that column alongside their name and the Status of the Assessment and Intervention. If you select either Assessment or Intervention you will see their performance by date. The Edit button allows you to reset their password, change their group, their status and enable the Assessment for the participant to retake the assessment and measure progress at some later date following the initial assessment. If you want your participant to retake an assessment, select Edit next to their name and set the Assessment at the bottom of the page to Enable. For participants that are no longer Active you can set their status to Disable.
Disabled Participants
Shows a list of disabled participants. If you wish to restore a previously inactive participant to Active, select Restore. Disabled participants can also be permanently deleted by selecting the Delete button.
Content
This section shows all the content for the assessment and intervention and allows you to add new content (select the Add Content button in the upper right corner), although you cannot delete any of the existing content. You can, however, change whether the particular word/picture appears in the Intervention and/or the Assessment if you select Edit for a particular word. You can add additional correct images – make sure to select Update Content afterwards to see and save your image.
